Dear
Friends and Fellow Consolers,
Please
pass this on to all those in your address book and ask them to do the same.
This will get these prayers out to as many as possible. (See Suggested Prayers
below.)
To
our dear Consolers and all prayer worriers:
Today,
Sunday, the Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus, as I was praying
after Mass, it was placed on my heart to start nine day novenas, entrusting
our beautiful country, the United States of America, to the protection of Mary
the Mother of God and our Mother. She is the greatest20 intercessor with Her
Son Jesus.
At
the wedding feast in
Cana
she presented the need to her Son, saying, “They have no wine,” and gave
the faith-filled instruction to the servants, “Do whatever He tells you.”
The result was “the choicest wine.” In the same way Our Lady is
interceding today. But today, she asks us to join
her in faith and love, asking Jesus to transform the soul of our poor sinful
nation, even as He transformed the water into wine. We can offer our prayers
in any format we choose, but of course Our Lady prefers the Holy Rosary, for
it retells the mysteries of our faith and brings their power to bear on our
circumstances here and now.
She
once came to our continent as Our Lady of Guadalupe and today we invoke her
intercession again, for all life, for the culture of life, the life of our
nation, and for the conversion of souls.
As
we see evils increase from day to day, and threats intensify (even nuclear:
Iran
?
Korea
?),
it is crucial to continuously pray for the protection of this great nation and
for the protection of the unborn and all life from birth to natural death, as
GOD wills. This is the time now to step aside from the world and focus on
fulfilling our call as followers of Jesus Christ, who look for the Day of His
Reign and praying, “Thy Kingdom come; thy will be done.”
And
so, in this time of urgency, I would ask you – if and as you are able –
to:
1.
Please
pray this nine day novena, for as long as needed,
2.
Pray
with fasting and/or abstinence (of your choosing),
3.
Pray
before the Blessed Sacrament (whenever possible), and
4.
Go
to the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
I
believe the time has come for all of us to get on our knees to bring our
country back to God. God saved
Nineveh
when they put on sack cloth and ashes. We are not asked for that, but I
believe we are asked to pray continuously and to trust our God.
My
dear people, what seems to be looming on the horizon is not a very pretty
picture, but as we entrust – and continue to entrust – our nation to Our
Beloved Blessed Mother, she will fulfill her promises. Thus we will see the
triumph of her Immaculate Heart and the glorious Reign of the Sacred Heart of
Our Lord Jesus Christ on this earth!
May
God bless you abundantly!
Yours
in the United Hearts of Jesus and Mary,
Theresa

The Memorare
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.
Inspired
by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother;
to
thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O
Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions,
but
in thy mercy hear and answer me.
Amen.
OUR
LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR
Brief
History of The Devotion
On
their arrival in
New
Orleans
,
December 30,18lO, this precious statue was solemnly installed in the Convent
Chapel, and from that time the homage and veneration offered to Mary under the
title of "OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR" has been constantly growing in
our city and state and spreading far and wide all over the
United
States
.
It does not come within the sphere of this brief sketch to relate all the
favors, both spiritual and temporal, wrought through the intercession of Our
Lady of Prompt Succor during the past one hundred years and more. The
Chronicles of the Ursuline Convent sum up these
graces by saying: "Under this title the Most Blessed Virgin has so often
manifested her power and goodness, that the Religious have unbounded
confidence in her." ......
Rome
has officially approved "DEVOTION TO OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR."
Most precious documents have, at different times, emanated from the Holy See,
placing the Seal of Holy Church on this devotion and conferring special
privileges upon it. On
September
27, 1851
,
His Holiness, Pius IX, graciously authorized the celebration of the feast of
Our Lady of Prompt Succor and the singing of the yearly Mass of
Thanksgiving on January the 8th.......
May
devotion to Mary under her hope-inspiring title of Our Lady of Prompt Succor
spread far and wide! To invoke Our Lady under this title is to tell her that
our needs are great and pressing, and that we hope for and expect much from
her. Her power equals her love; therefore, our confidence should know no
bounds
Our
Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us!
PRAYER
TO OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR
Oh,
Immaculate Heart! Help us to conquer the menace of evil, which so easily takes
root in the hearts of the people of today, and whose immeasurable effects
already weigh down upon our modern world and seem to block the paths towards
the future!
From
famine and war, deliver us.
From nuclear war, from incalculable
self-destruction, from every kind of war, deliver us.
From sins against the life of man from its
very beginning, deliver us.
From hatred and from the demeaning of the
dignity of the children of God, deliver us.
From every kind of injustice in the life
of society, both national and international, deliver us.
From readiness to trample on the
commandments of God, deliver us.
From attempts to stifle in human hearts
the very truth of God, deliver us.
From sins against the Holy Spirit, deliver
us, deliver us.
Accept,
O Mother of Christ, this cry laden with the sufferings of all individual human
beings, laden with the sufferings of whole societies.
Let
there be revealed, once more, in the history of the world your infinite power
of merciful Love. May it put a stop to evil. May it
transform consciences. May your Immaculate Heart
reveal for all the light of Hope.

PRAYERS TO
SAINT MICHAEL THE
ARCHANGEL
St.
Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
cast into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen..
O
Glorious Prince St. Michael,
Chief and Commander of the Heavenly Hosts,
Guardian of Souls, Vanquisher of rebel spirits,
Servant in the house of the Divine King
and our admirable conductor,
you who shine with excellence
and superhuman virtue, deliver us from all evil,
who turn to you with confidence
and enable us by your gracious protection
to serve God more and more faithfully every day.
Amen.
