THE PERPETUAL PRAYER CRUSADE

On November 17 2001 after much prayer and strongly inspired by the Holy Spirit, I began the Perpetual Prayer Crusade.  I wanted to see Consolers offering prayers around the clock-24 hours a day, seven days a week  to defeat the work of satan through the power of prayer, to banish all evil from the earth, and to bring about the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the reign of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

This crusade has over 2,000 intercessors in America and  more than 20,000 in Africa, while whole families are participating together. So now all 24 hours are covered with prayer ascending perpetually to the throne of God.

But the urgency of this prayer crusade does not cease to weigh heavily on my heart. How can I express to you the grave importance of this mission? How can I express upon you the need to continue faithfully in this work of intercession? How can I encourage you to answer this call from Jesus and Mary every day without fail., as is possible within the context of your circumstances, and yet never under the pain of sin?

Words may fail to adequately convey the urgency. But just look around you at the situation in our poor sin-sick world, the situation in our schools, and among our youth, the situation within families, the unbelievable stresses everyone is suffering, most of which are caused by the evils in the world--not the least of which, of course, are the wars and the terrorism.

Look around you at the way God is now mocked more than ever. See how, from Senators and Supreme Court Justices to pop singers and movie stars, so many are happy to claim they have “faith in God” while also voting for the so called “right” of a mother to kill her unborn child, or claiming some “right of “ homosexuals to marry, or criticizing our beloved Pope Benedict 16th and other faithful Christians, complaining that they (we) are trying to drive Christianity into the middle ages.

Yes, look around you, and it might just overwhelm you with sorrow. Then you can understand how the Hearts of Jesus and Mary must suffer also. But there is a difference in Their suffering. It is never hopeless. As dire as our situation is, in Christ Jesus we are never hopeless. United as we are with the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, we are called to keep our minds and hearts filled with the same spirit, the same faith, hope and love that animate Their Hearts. With the Holy Spirit in our hearts, our hearts may break, but never our spirits.

Jesus said. “ In the world you will have many tribulations; but, be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16-33) How does he overcome the world? Look around you. Yes, It’s you and me. We are His instruments. His chosen and beloved people.

He has sent us His holy Spirit so that whenever we pray with all our hearts, we can be certain that He hears us and will answer our prayers. This is the faith our Father in heaven is seeking from His people: that whenever we ask that his will be done “on earth as it is in heaven” we believe he is doing it, despite whatever seems to be happening around us!

This is the aim of the Perpetual Prayer Crusade to pray, with faith and hope unceasingly, for the coming of the Kingdom of God on this earth. And of course the Rosary is the weapon of choice against all the powers of the evil one.

Part of praying with faith, also, is to live the Christian life as authentically as possible. This means frequent reception of the Sacraments, preferably daily Communion, and also Reconciliation at least once a month.

In addition, it is recommended to fast and/ or offer up sacrifices as is possible. This is how wars are stopped and natural disasters are averted. Historically, we have seen again and again how powerful the prayers of God’s people can be, when we pray together with united hearts.

And so I urge you, if you have not yet signed up to participate in the “PERPETUAL PRAYER CRUSADE” TO PLEASE DO SO TODAY. The materials are here for you. The prayer time you choose is structured as follows.

1.       Prayer to defeat the work of satan.

2.       Five decades of Our Lady’s Holy Rosary.

3.       Chaplet of the Holy Wounds of Jesus, and closing with

4.       The Saint Michael prayer.

THE PRAYER TO DEFEAT THE WORKS OF SATAN SAYS:

O DIVINE ETERNAL FATHER, in union with your Divine Son and the Holy Spirit, and through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg you to destroy the power of your greatest enemy--------the evil spirits.

Cast them into the deepest recesses of hell and chain them there forever! Take possession of Your Kingdom, which you have created and which is rightfully yours.

Heavenly Father, give us the reign of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

I pray this prayer out of pure love for You, with every beat of my heart and with every breath that I take. Amen.

Then say five decades of Our Lady’s Holy Rosary, meditating on   the mysteries of the day.

Using your Rosary beads say the

CHAPLET OF THE HOLY WOUNDS OF JESUS.

On the large beads say:

ETERNAL FATHER, I offer Thee the Wounds of our

Lord Jesus Christ to heal the wounds of our souls.

                                        (300 days indulgence each time)

On the small beads say:

My Jesus, pardon and mercy, through the merits of Thy Holy

Wounds.

                                        (300 days indulgence each time)

End with THE SAINT MICHAEL PRAYER:

SAINT MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL, defend us in this day of

battle: Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the

devil:  May God rebuke him we humbly pray, and do thou O Prince

Of The Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell satan

and all the evil spirits, who wander throughout the world seeking

the ruination of souls. Amen.

MAY GOD BLESS
