"We will unite together"

Why a Prayer Line?

In our heart-felt determination to fulfill Jesus' command " To love one another as I have loved you, " we firmly believe there is no greater way to express love for another child of God than to pray for that person.

The United Hearts Prayer Line was established in 1990 by Theresa Maynard of Manchester, New Hampshire (USA) with a small group of friends to pray for the wounded, broken, and those dying from serious illness. The more this devoted group prayed, the more calls they received requesting prayers.

The United Hearts Prayer line, which began with a group of 15 people, has grown into a world wide prayer line of over 2,000 people praying for various requests. A 24-hour phone line was created where prayer requests are noted in an ongoing log and these intentions are kept in perpetual prayer. If the situation changes, the intention is updated and prayer continues.

Prayer intentions now pour in from all over the world, on the phone line, our e-mail address, and this website. Many healings have been reported by those requesting prayer, and we are always pleased to receive this information so we can praise God and give Him all the glory for His Divine Mercy of Love.

Who should call?

Anyone in need of prayer, or who would like to request prayer for a family member, friend, acquaintance, business associate, political leader etc., can call the United Hearts Prayer Line... Remember, God hears all our prayers and answers our requests according to His Holy and Perfect Will of Wisdom... His answers may not always come in our time frame and in the way we determine is best, but he always answers our prayers.

Request Prayers...

If you are worried about a major upcoming decision... Request Prayers.
If you are suffering from financial stress and strain... Request Prayers.
If a marriage is in trouble... Request Prayers.
If a loved one needs a medical procedure... Request Prayers.
If someone needs Jesus in their life... Request Prayers.

Who Prays?

People from all over the world pray on the United Hearts Prayer Line, Including Pope John Paul II and entire orders of Priests, Sisters and other religious. In addition, Consolers of the United Hearts Lay Apostolate keep the intentions of the Prayer Line in their daily prayers.

Many individuals have stepped forward and made a prayerful commitment to join the the Lay Apostolate... Not only from California to New England in the United States but also Internationally from: Antigonish & Yarmouth, Nova Scotia... Alberta & Saskatchewan, Canada... Dublin, Ireland... Medjugorje, Bosnia-Hercegovina... Bacayan Cebu City, The Philippines...Africa, and to "down under", Australia to name a few.

Several years before her death, Mother Teresa of Calcutta not only agreed she and her nuns would pray on the United Hearts Prayer Line, but also consented to be the "Spiritual Mother" of the Consolers Lay Apostolate. We are confident that Mother Teresa is now our Heavenly Intercessor, and tenderly monitors both our Prayer Line and the needs of our Lay Apostolate with motherly compassion and care.

Can anyone Pray?

Yes! If you feel called to pray on the Prayer Line, Please contact us at the same number or by e-mail and leave your name, address, phone and/or e-mail. We are always blessed to add new volunteers to our growing prayer ministry. Often those who begin by praying on the Prayer Line, are drawn to a deeper spiritual commitment and ask to be consecrated as Consolers of the United Hearts of Jesus & Mary Lay Apostolate.
