Novena Prayer to Saint Michael

"Our Lady of the Holy Rosary"

Intercessory Prayer to Mary our Mother

Remember, O Most Gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that any one who fled to thy protection, implored thy help,

or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, we fly unto Thee, O Virgin of virgins our Mother, to thee do we come, before thee we stand, sinful and sorrowful; O Mother of thy Word Incarnate, despise not our petition but in

thy clemency, hear and answer us. AMEN.

Novena Prayer to Saint Michael

Saint Michael the Archangel, loyal champion of God and His people, we turn to you with confidence and seek your powerful intercession. For the love of God, who made you so glorious in grace and power, and for the love

of the Mother of Jesus, the Queen of the Angels, be pleased to hear our prayer. You know the value of our souls

in the eyes of God. May no stain of evil ever disfigure their beauty. Help us to conquer the evil spirits who

tempts us. We desire to imitate your loyalty to God and Holy Mother Church and your great love for God and people. And since You are God’s messenger for the care of His people, we entrust to you this special request..

(Mention request) For God’s choice in the election of the president of the United States.  To keep us safe and to be “One nation UNDER GOD, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

Saint Michael, since you are, by the Will of the Creator, the most powerful intercessor of Christians, we have great confidence in your prayers. We earnestly trust that if it is God’s holy will, our petition will be granted. Pray for us Saint Michael, and also for those we love. Protect us in all dangers of body and soul. Help us in our daily needs. Through your powerful intercession, may we live a holy life, die a happy death, and reach heaven where we may praise God with you forever. AMEN.

MAKE A SPECIAL DECISION FOR PRAYER

The Mother of Jesus urges us to pray as a defense against evil.

To Ivan’s prayer group at Medjugorje:

"Dear children, your Mother warns you tonight that Satan is active in a special way these days. Do not allow emptiness inside of you, but fill this emptiness with prayer. Dear children, prayer is the best medicine these days to defend yourselves against evil. And so, dear children, make a special decision for prayer during Lent. Tonight I expect you to pray the Glorious Mysteries when you return home." (Visionaries Prayer Group February 19, 1990)

Fittingly, Psalm 54 is entitled, "Confident Prayer in Great Peril": But surely, God is my helper; The Lord is the upholder of my life. He will repay my enemies for their evil. In your faithfulness, put an end to them. With a freewill offering I will sacrifice to you; I will give thanks to your name, O Lord, for it is good. For he has delivered me from every trouble, And my eye has looked in triumph on My enemies. ---Psalm 54:4-7

Reflection:

As Our Lady tells us today, prayer is our chief weapon against evil. It is of such importance that she once told Jelena, the elocutionist, "I have nothing else to tell you, but pray, pray, pray."

In a sermon on prayer, Fr. Tomislav Vlasic, formerly assigned to Medjugorje, made the analogy that, "Just as we find ourselves talking to a friend for hours on end, so it is just as natural to talk with Jesus Christ." On problems in prayer, he suggests that, "If we are distracted or absent-minded in prayer, it may be that we are too far from God, too devoted to the world, and have not given enough time to seeking him in prayer."

He adds: "I therefore invite you to a continuous deepening of prayer. The Holy Spirit will enlighten you each step of the way and Satan will be completely disarmed."

Application:

Let’s simply heed the Virgin’s advice today: "Don’t allow emptiness inside of you; fill this emptiness with prayer…it is the best medicine to defend yourselves against evil."

Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.

Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much
seek to be consoled as to console; to be
understood as to understand; to be loved as to
love. For it is in giving that we receive, it is in
pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in
dying that we are born to eternal life.

save a soul!

EVERLASTING FATHER

O God, we praise Thee, and acknowledge Thee to be the supreme Lord.
Everlasting Father, all the earth worships Thee.
All the Angels, the heavens and all angelic powers,
All the Cherubim and Seraphim, continuously cry to Thee:
Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Hosts!
Heaven and earth are full of the Majesty of Thy glory.
The glorious choir of the Apostles,
The wonderful company of Prophets,
The white-robed army of Martyrs, praise Thee.
Holy Church throughout the world acknowledges Thee:
The Father of infinite Majesty;
Thy adorable, true and only Son;
Also the Holy Spirit, the Comforter.
O Christ, Thou art the King of glory!
Thou art the everlasting Son of the Father.
When Thou tookest it upon Thyself to deliver man,
Thou didst not disdain the Virgin's womb.
Having overcome the sting of death,

Thou opened the Kingdom of Heaven to all believers.
Thou sitest at the right hand of God in the glory of the Father.
We believe that Thou willst come to be our Judge.
We, therefore, beg Thee to help Thy servants whom

Thou hast redeemed with Thy Precious Blood.
Let them be numbered with Thy Saints in everlasting glory.

V. Save Thy people, O Lord, and bless Thy inheritance!
R. Govern them, and raise them up forever.

V. Every day we thank Thee.
R. And we praise Thy Name forever, yes, forever and ever.

V. O Lord, deign to keep us from sin this day.
R. Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us.

V. Let Thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, for we have hoped in Thee.
R. O Lord, in Thee I have put my trust; let me never be put to shame.

A PRAYER WHEN IN POOR HEALTH

Jesus in the goodness of Your Heart, You have given me the great gift of
life. You have asked me to take up my cross daily and follow You. Today
my illness is a heavy burden, Lord, and I need the comfort You promised.
As you showed Your wounded side to Thomas, open Your Heart and have
mercy now on me. Take special care of those I love and of all the poor
and suffering throughout the world.

Amen.

"Prayer for Families"

God, Our Father, loving and merciful, bring together and keep all families

in perfect unity of love and mutual support.  Instill in each member the

spirit of understanding and affection for each other.

Keep quarrels and bitterness far from them, and for their

occasional failures instill forgiveness and peace.

May the mutual love and affection of parents set a good example.

Instill in children self-respect that they may respect others and grow in

mature independence.

Make the mutual affection and respect of families

a sign of Christian life here and hereafter,

through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

 "Unfailing Prayer to St. Anthony"

" Blessed be God in His Angels and

                    in His Saints "

O Holy St. Anthony, gentlest of Saints,

your love for God and Charity for His

 creatures, made you worthy, when

 on earth, to possess miraculous

 powers. Miracles waited on your

word, which you were ever ready to

speak for those in trouble or anxiety.

Encouraged by this thought, I implore

of you to obtain for me  ( request ).

The answer to my prayer may

require a miracle, even so, you are

 the Saint of Miracles.

O gentle and loving St. Anthony,

whose heart was ever full of human

 sympathy, whisper my petition into

the ears of the Sweet Infant Jesus,

 who loved to be folded in your arms;

and the gratitude of my heart will

 ever be yours.

             Pater, Ave and Gloria

Help me with your loving care while I work to save the
lives and property of all people, young and old.

Give me the courage, the alertness to protect my
neighbors and all others whom I am pledged to aid

"Police Officer's Prayer to St. Michael"

Saint Michael, heaven's glorious commissioner of police,
who once so neatly and successfully cleared God's premises
of all its undesirables, look with kindly and professional
eyes on your earthly force.

Give us cool heads, stout hearts, and uncanny flair for
investigation and wise judgment.

Make us the terror of burglars, the friend of children and
law-abiding citizens, kind to strangers, polite to bores,
strict with law-breakers and impervious to temptations.

You know, Saint Michael, from your own experiences
with the devil that the police officer's lot on earth is not
always a happy one; but your sense of duty that so
pleased God, your hard knocks that so surprised the
devil, and your angelic self-control give us inspiration.

And when we lay down our night sticks, enroll us in your
heavenly force, where we will be as proud to guard the
throne of God as we have been to guard the city of all
the people.

Amen.

Prayer to be Said by a Sick Person

(May be used for a novena)

O Merciful Infant Jesus! I know of Your miraculous deeds for the sick.

How many diseases You cured during Your blessed life on earth,

and how many venerators of Your Miraculous image ascribe to You

their recovery and deliverance from most painful and hopeless maladies.

I know, indeed, that a sinner like me has merited his sufferings

and has no right to ask for favors. But in view of the innumerable graces

and the miraculous cures granted even to the greatest sinners through

the veneration of Your holy infancy, particularly in the miraculous statue

of Prague or in representations of it, I exclaim with the greatest assurance:

O most loving Infant Jesus, full of pity, You can cure me if You will!

Do not hesitate, O Heavenly Physician, if it be Your will that I recover

from this present illness; extend Your most holy hands, and by Your

power take away all pain and infirmity, so that my recovery may be due,

not to natural remedies, but to You alone. If, however, You in Your

inscrutable wisdom have determined otherwise, then at least

restore my soul to perfect health, and fill me with heavenly consolation

and blessing, that I may be like You, O Jesus, in my sufferings,

and may glorify Your providence until, at the death of my body,

You bestow on me eternal life.

Amen.

An Offering of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary

O Jesus, only Son of God, only Son of Mary,
I offer Thee the most loving Heart of Thy divine Mother
which is more precious and pleasing to Thee than all hearts.

O Mary, Mother of Jesus,
I offer Thee the most adorable Heart of Thy well-beloved Son,
who is the life and love and joy of Thy Heart.

Blessed be the Most Loving Heart
and Sweet Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ
and the most glorious
Virgin Mary, His Mother,
in eternity and forever.
Amen.

Prayer for husbands and wives

Lord, inspire those men and women
who bear the titles "Husband" and "Wife".
Help them to look to You
to themselves
to one another
to rediscover the fullness and mystery
they once felt in their union.
Let them be honest enough to ask:
"Where have we been together
and where are we going?
Let them be brave enough to question:
"How have we failed?"
Let each be foolhardy enough to say:
"For me, we come first".
Help them, together
to reexamine their commitment
in the light of Your love,
willingly, openly, and compassionately.

Amen.

O St. Joseph whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the Throne of God,
I place in you all my interest and desires. O St. Joseph do assist me by your powerful
intercession and obtain for me from your Divine Son all spiritual blessings
through Jesus Christ, Our Lord; so that having engaged here below
your Heavenly power I may offer my Thanksgiving and Homage
to the most Loving of Fathers.
O St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep
in your arms. I dare not approach while He reposes
near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss
His fine Head for me, and ask Him to return
the Kiss when I draw my dying breath.
St. Joseph, Patron of departing souls, pray for us.
Amen.

Say for nine consecutive mornings for anything you may desire.
It has seldom been known to fail.
